Nearly eight years after British RAF Sergeant Jacqueline Tennant went missing while hiking in Majorca on a day off during a summer season working as a swimming instructor for First Choice, her family’s crusade to find her could be drawing to an end.

Last Tuesday, the Guardia Civil announced that they had found the remains of Jacqueline, who was aged 45 on 9 October 2007,  the last day she was seen or heard of.

A statement was issued that bones found between Lluc and Pollensa belonged to Jacqueline, but her sister Monique, who was extremely close to Jacqueline, has still yet to receive official confirmation, other than the remains are "believed" to be those of Jacqueline.
