A 49-year-old British woman, named as Lisa Jane, has been murdered at her home on the C. Bellavista in Costa de la Calma.

At 3.20am this morning, the 112 emergency service took a call from a British man who said that he had killed his wife. The local police and a 061 paramedic team were the first to arrive at the scene. The woman had apparently been strangled, and efforts at reviving her were to no avail. She had suffered cardiopulmonary arrest and the medical team observed that there were significant marks on her neck that indicated strangulation.

The Guardia Civil has taken charge of the investigation and has arrested the British man.
