Thousands of people took advantage of the great weather today and celebrated Balearics Day in style. The market which had been set up along the Paseo Maritimo and up into the Paseo Mallorca proved to be exceptionally popular. Long traffic tailbacks formed along the Paseo Maritimo at lunchtime today as thousands of people descended on Palma to join the fun. The local authorities had organised a wide range of events from children's games to guided tours around many local institutions. After the heavy rains over the weekend the sunshine was a welcome sight for the stall holders at the market. Today was a great day for all.
