Belmond La Residencia in Deya has established itself as an art hotel. Last year, the extraordinary exhibition of Joan Miró - "Serie Mallorca" - in the Sa Tafona art gallery was inaugurated. Miró works were also exhibited in the Café Miro bistro. Now, a new exhibition by the Catalan master has been opened and will run during 2017. Works by Miró on the walls of the Café Miró have been increased in number to 33. All of them are originals ceded by the Successió Miró (the Miró estate). This collection is the largest of Miró works in a hotel anywhere in the world.

In celebrating this significant development, Guillermo Méndez, the Belmond La Residencia head chef, has created a Miró gourmet menu. This combines fresh ingredients of the highest quality for exquisite dishes that are a reflection of Miró's thoughts about and attitudes towards Mediterranean cuisine. These were expressed in several of his writings, while members of the family have also provided information.

The Miró menu is a visual and tactile journey of original and memorable tastes and will only be available in the El Olivo restaurant during September.

Also in honour of this event, the Belmond La Residencia is presenting "Tea with Miró". The concept of the porcelain tea service was designed by resident sculptor Juan Waelder with Zavellá25 Estudi d'Art, based on the work "Sans Titre, 1952", exclusively for the Café Miró. This tea service (or set) will be used for the Tea with Miro that will also include artistic teacakes created by the chef. The tea service is a limited edition and the Belmond La Residencia is the only place where it is for sale.

The hotel is a living art museum which provides clients and visitors the great privilege of being able to see some of the most remarkable works of art in the world. The Café Miró is open to the public, as is the majestic sculpture by Joan Miró, Tête, which is exhibited in the hotel gardens and forms part of the Belmond La Residencia garden of sculptures.
