The Guardia Civil yesterday mounted another operation against the sale of drugs. The operation was centred on Pollensa, the town and port, and Alcudia. Some fifty officers, including members of the criminal police based in Pollensa, were involved in the operation, with support from the Guardia's helicopter and dog unit.

It began at first light with raids on three houses and two commercial premises in Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia. One of those arrested was at a property by a primary school in Pollensa. He was found with 70,000 euros cash stashed in a backpack. Other raids were in the calle Formentor and calle Joan XXIII in Puerto Pollensa.

In addition to this cash, some 200 grams of cocaine were seized. Vehicles, boats and a motorcycle were also seized.

The investigation had started a few months ago. The Guardia had become aware of a "retail" system of drugs sales - cocaine and hashish. The five people arrested are Spanish and Moroccan and four sales points have been closed down.

Here we go again, see story re burglaries 4 days ago and now North Africans arrested for drug dealing. There isnt a week that goes by without a Mahgreb committing a crime even though their population on the Island is tiny. Given their peaceful religion and the fact they think westerners are immoral, they sure as hell are the biggest hypocrites on the planet as the majority of them in Mallorca smoke, drink, womanise and commit crime! They are an absolute disgrace.

Well done the guardia...althoughliving in Pto Pollensa I had no idea this was going on...but the real hero in the port is the guardia on the bicycle...he gets everywhere...and misses nothing

Well done The Guardia, and those connected with cleansing the Island, of these eventual death inducing drugs. There are many very stupid/silly people on Mallorca, who are taking various forms of drugs. I hope this blight on society, will eventually be completely eradicated from this Island.
