A fire in a wooded area of Morella in Andratx was for a time given a Level One risk rating because of the proximity of houses.

The Ibanat agency declared the fire at quarter past four this afternoon (Tuesday). Initially, it was categorised as Level Zero but then upgraded prior to being controlled and downgraded again to Level Zero.

Three firefighting planes and two helicopters have been used in fighting the fire which has claimed an estimated 0.1 hectares of forest.

Yesterday's fire near Pollensa was finally extinguished at nine in the evening. It affected 0.05 hectares.
