Puerto Pollensa yacht club - Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença - is to waive its current concession in order to obtain new authorisation to enable it to continue with the management of the marina for a further 35 years. It is the only port in the Balearics that still operates according to its original contract, one that dates back to 1987.

The club president, Alan Ponte, is to inform the regional ports authority - Ports de les Illes Balears - that the assembly of members at the weekend voted overwhelmingly in favour of the decision. This means that an internal crisis at the club will be brought to an end. It had arisen because of a dispute over the loss of mooring rights. Under the terms of the new concession, existing titleholders of moorings will be given until May next year to accept or decline a preferential right for use up to 2037.
