A 37-year-old Guinean man died yesterday evening (Sunday) after falling into the sea by the Paseo Marítimo in Palma.

Around six o'clock, several people saw a man in the water, and a fisherman jumped and managed to rescue him. Port of Palma police, Guardia Civil officers and emergency medics all went to the scene. Attempts to resuscitate him failed, and he was declared dead at around seven o'clock.

The National Police Homicide Squad is investigating what happened. Witnesses suggest that the man was drunk and fell into the sea accidentally.
