Numancia 2 - Real Mallorca 0
Mallorca, away at Numancia with four more points, went into the match with several players out through suspension. While Numancia had the best of the initial exchanges, it took a Costas push in the box to let the home side in for a penalty opening goal. After this, it was pretty much one-way traffic, Mallorca posing no real threat.

Into the second half, Mallorca were without Pereira after a head injury, and soon into the half Cabrero needed a couple of attempts to stop Vicente adding a second for Numancia. Mallorca's lack of ambition threatened to backfire, and it did, when Alvarez fired in a direct free kick halfway through the period.

If Mallorca coach Vázquez had planned on a defensive format to hit on the counter-attack, then he was wrong. Mallorca failed to have one effort on goal until Salomao managed one in added time. Suspensions there were, but this is meant to nevertheless be one of Liga Segunda's strongest squads. The defeat keeps Mallorca one point and one place above the relegation four.
