Real Zaragoza 2 - Real Mallorca 1

Away at midtable Zaragoza, Mallorca were looking to build on the encouraging home win last weekend against league leaders Leganés, and the visitors made a very encouraging start, Arana putting Mallorca ahead on ten minutes after a counterattack. Zaragoza came back with a long-range shot from Ángel that only just cleared the bar, while Wellenreuther dived at Gil's feet to stop a scoring chance and then saved from a header by Rico. The equaliser seemed as if it was coming, and it did come: Dorca heading in Lanzarote's free kick. There was further bad news for Mallorca. Yuste, who had been struggling with an injury, had to go off with eight minutes of the half remaining. A Colunga free kick, saved by Herrera, brought the first period to an end.

Mallorca started the second half brightly, but the wheels started to come off when Aveldaño was shown red and Dorca put Zaragoza ahead soon after. Amidst the mayhem, Yuste, on the bench, was also shown a red. Down to ten men, Mallorca pressed for an equaliser, Arana's header drawing a save from Herrera and then his shot, with two minutes left, also being blocked by the Zaragoza goalkeeper.

Mallorca, who didnn't really deserve to lose, remain five points above the relegation zone, though Huesca play later.
