Elche 1 - Real Mallorca 0

Mallorca away against Elche in Alicante, the two sides having had similar seasons so far and each going into the match with nineteen points.

In a game in which Elche dominated possession, Mallorca nevertheless matched the home side with chances. Raíllo and Moutinho both went close within the first quarter of an hour, and so did Brandon not long after the break. But things went wrong for Mallorca when Raíllo was sent off after 63 minutes for a second yellow, having fouled Dorca in the area. Albácar's penalty hit the bar, but four minutes later Guillermo's close-range shot put Elche ahead. Pleguezuelo also saw red for a second bookable offence just before the end.
