Tuesday looking good. May be cloudy in the interior, but the coasts should be sunny.

As to the rest of the week, the met agency has explained that an Atlantic front which had been expected to arrive by Thursday has weakened and that the anticyclone over the western Med is stubbornly remaining in place; hence the good weather. This will continue to be the situation until Friday and quite probably Saturday.

However, Aemet is now predicting that a different Atlantic front will begin to make itself felt at the weekend. This could well bring some rain. On Sunday, weather stations are currently giving a rain probability of 50 to 60%. The met agency spokesperson said today (Monday) that it doesn't appear that any rain on Sunday and Monday next week will be heavy but that this could change. Temperatures are expected to fall next week to more usual values for the time of year - a high of around 24C.

For this week, the highs will be above normal and the weather stations are still pointing to a rise in temperatures later this week. On Saturday, there is currently a predicted high of 35C in Pollensa, with the highest temperatures looking as if they will be in northern areas.
