I find it rather disturbing that the U.S. National Security Agency ( NSA) has been spying on Spanish citizens, tracking more than 60 million telephone calls. It is a breach of trust, because Spain is a key ally of the United States and this invasion of privacy should not go unpunished. The Spanish government has already summoned the U.S. ambassador for a full explanation but Ibelieve that President Barack Obama should telephone Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy to apologise. Now, there are some who will say that if you have nothing to hide then you shouldn´t be concerned and the NSAis just trying to keep us safe in a dangerous world. Well, I  may be rather old-fashioned but Ibelieve in my freedom and the NSA is behaving like the Stasi or the KGBduring the Cold war years. The NSA must take into account that in Spain, and other countries, there are laws and in this country only a judge can rule on telephone intercepts. I sincerely doubt that the NSAsought any permission at all and just went ahead with their scheme without consulting the Spanish government or the judiciary. This is wrong.  The NSA and to a lesser extent GCHQ in Britain must act within the realms of the law. No-one should be bigger than the judiciary or a sovereign state. I am sure that the Spanish government would give the necessary permission if they thought that these telephone trackings were in the interests of Spanish national security but no permission was sought.
