Why is that dog owners feel the need to let their pets foul on pavements in towns and villages and on paths in beautiful reserves. Not only is dogs mess a danger to human health, but it is also unsightly, smelly, and takes time to decompose.

What staggers me beyond belief is that some owners actually pick the mess up then leave the tied bag on a bench or hanging from a branch.

It amazes me that people can be so lazy, dirty and selfish and show such blatant disregard for fellow residents and the environment.

What must the tourists think when they see this, and why are the police and the local authorities not doing more to fine these irresponsible people who give the decent dog owners a bad name?
