I remember the times when there was only 1 large DIY store on Mallorca (Leroy&Merlin in Marratxi). Within 5 years, 4 more large DIY places popped up and suddenly Leroy had go adjust its pricing, to stay in business. Many people were saying there were too many and stores would go bust, etc etc. Well, they are all still here and as busy as ever. Amazon is modern shopping and unstoppable. So as a small business owner: adjust, or go bust. Just moaning about it, is not going to help.
This centre is simply a base for the distribution of goods that people have already purchased online from Amazon and will make the delivery process quicker and more reliable, which is something that is sadly lacking from the present crop of delivery agents in the Balearics. I order many things from Amazon, but on the whole they are mainly things that I just cannot buy in Menorca or that are grossly overpriced here.
