A holiday for a family from Burgos on the mainland has ended in tragedy. At around 2.40pm this afternoon, a nine-year-old girl fell overboard from a Rib that the family were on off the coast of Sa Rapita (Campos). The girl was caught in the propeller and suffered multiple injuries to her head and face.

Her parents raised the alarm, and paramedics were on the scene as quickly as possible, but sadly, due to the severity of the injuries, there was nothing that could have been to save the girl's life.

She was declared dead at the scene. A full investigation has been opened.
