The Balearic Tourism Agency has presented its tourism promotion campaign "Better in Winter" during the Balearic Islands Week at the B The Travel Brand store in Barcelona. While winter is the focus, the campaign is also for "an ideal destination to enjoy at any time of the year".

This said, the three seasons of winter, spring and autumn are concentrated on, as are tourist products such as gastronomy, culture, health, sport, art, traditions and shopping. All of this, says the agency, will "surprise the visitor who enjoys a paradise with a mild climate in a pure Mediterranean style".   

Cycling is a product proving to be particularly successful and not just in Majorca. There is, for instance, the international cycling tourism event in Minorca. Other sports events include the various regattas, football and paddle surfing. Music is well represented with events such as the Mallorca Live Festival, the Alternatilla Jazz season and the Formentor Sunset Classics. For gastronomy and wine there are the likes of Tapalma and Wine Days Mallorca.

The Balearics week in Barcelona, which ended on Friday, is part of a co-marketing agreement between the agency and the B The Travel Brand. Ricardo Fernández, the communications director for Barceló Viajes (which is B The Travel Brand), says that the initiative is all about tackling tourism seasonality in the Balearics. The islands, he notes, undoubtedly offer great attractions other than only sun and beach.

"Better in Winter" has been the slogan used by the tourism agency at travel and tourism fairs such as the recent one in Berlin.
