A nineteen year-old Scottish woman, believed to have been from West Kilbride, tragically fell from a sixth-floor balcony to her death in Magalluf on Friday morning.

The exact details as to what happened have still yet to be confirmed but, according to the Guardia Civil, it is thought that the young woman, who was working the summer season in a local bar, had forgotten the keys to her apartment in the Eden Rock block in calle Torrenova and was trying to get onto the balcony of her flat by climbing over a railing. The body of the teenager was found just after 9.30am on the terrace of a bar in calle Marti Garcia.

A team of paramedics rushed to the scene but, despite all their efforts, there was nothing which could have been done to save the victim’s life.

Guardia Civil officers have been questioning neighbours, colleagues and friends in order to try and piece events together. The family has been informed.
