The 33 year old British tourist who was severely injured when he was run over by a car last week is now said to be in a stable condition in ICU at Son Espases Hospital.

A German woman was killed in the same accident when a BMW SUV mounted the pavement outside the Palma Auditorium late in the afternoon on Friday.

The driver of the car allegedly told Police that she fell asleep at the wheel. She has been charged with reckless homicide and ordered to appear in court every 15 days.

The two victims were part of a group of friends who studied at Manchester University and were spending a few days in Majorca.
