The footwear industry in Lloseta began rather humbly at the end of the nineteenth century, but by the 1930s it was the municipality’s principal industry, one of the most important businesses having been Calzados Ordinas.
The potato was introduced to Mallorca via Minorca and it was a Frenchman, Alexandre de Cauterac, who first saw the potential for cultivating potatoes in Sa Pobla.

The Binissalem stone fair, which has been going since 2004, highlights stone work that is characteristic of Binissalem. where the local stone is technically a marble and comes in differing colours from dark blue to light beige. It is predominantly used for flooring, but exhibitors display all manner of products, e.g. sculptures, bowls, tables, and fountains.
The Puigpunyent Ecology Fair will start on Saturday with some batucada drummers making some noise and a night of “eco-tapas”.
The Manacor fairs and fiestas, which span two weekends, start on Friday afternoon with the traditional cossier dancers. Unlike other cossiers, who perform in one place, the Manacor troupe is itinerant. They start at 5pm from C. Sant Rafel and make their way to the town hall.
