Some 40,000 bars and restaurants had already shut down permanently in tourism-dependent Spain which implemented one of Europe's toughest lockdowns.
"Some business owners have adapted to the new image by changing what they offer. Others have not. Hence, there are the signs."
Bars, restaurants, traffic and street drinking are all blamed for increasing noise.
The Majorca Restaurants Association believes that the new restrictions will force the closure of some 500 terraces.
Complaints about noise in Palma have increased by almost 13%. The "tardeo" is one cause.
